Would-Be Danbury Robbery Apprehended: PD
A worker ran out of the store and screamed for help after the man demanded cash from the register, police said.

DANBURY, CT — Officers arrested a local man after he tried to rob a business, according to police.
A robbery was reported at Valentin Travel on Elm Street around 7:30 p.m. March 12. A man entered the store, jumped over the counter and demanded a worker open the cash register. The female worker fled the store and screamed for help.
A bystander came to the woman's aid and the robber fled, police said.

Police identified the robber as Daniel Christopher, 39, from surveillance video.
Christopher was apprehended around 10 p.m. when he attempted to enter his residence. He tried to resist arrest, but was ultimately taken into custody, police said.

He was charged with criminal attempt at second-degree robbery, threatening, interfering with police and disorderly conduct. He was released after posting a $10,000 bond.
