2021 Memorial Day Parade Plans Move Forward In Westport

Officials announced this week that the town is still planning to host a Memorial Day parade despite the coronavirus pandemic.

WESTPORT, CT — Despite the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Westport is moving forward with plans for a 2021 Memorial Day parade on May 31, town officials announced this week.

William Vornkahl, president of the Westport Veterans Council, said the theme for this year's parade float contest will be "Honoring Women Veterans."

The parade "will be subject to COVID-19 conditions and restrictions in effect at that time," officials said. Last year, the town produced a virtual Memorial Day parade.
