30-Unit Affordable Housing Complex Considered In Westport: Report

If it reaches the construction phase, the affordable housing complex would be near the Greens Farms Train Station.

WESTPORT, CT — A three-story, 30-unit affordable housing development is under consideration for a property near the Greens Farms Train Station, reported the Connecticut Post.

The project, which would be at 30 Maple Lane, has yet to officially come before the Westport Planning and Zoning Commission, but is being considered by developer Stephen Shapiro of Gold Coast Houses.

Last week, the commission heard a preliminary presentation about the project, which would fall under the state 8-30g affordable housing statutes. Westport's moratorium temporarily halting such proposals expires in March.

The project would need to meet flood and erosion regulations, and other requirements, if an application is submitted.
