$400,000 Appropriated Toward Reopening Westport School: Report
The Westport RTM has voted to establish a committee and appropriate $400,000 toward attempting to reopen a local school.
WESTPORT, CT — The Representative Town Meeting voted Tuesday to appropriate $400,000 toward attempting to reopen Coleytown Middle School, Westport News reported. The RTM also voted to establish a Coleytown Building Committee, charged with reopening the building for educational use by August 2020.
According to Westport News, Finance Committee Chair Jeff Wieser told the paper the appropriation is seed money that will go toward a consultant firm, who will then use it to design "accelerated rehabilitation measures."
