WESTPORT, CT — A section of Route 1 (Post Road East) in Westport is scheduled for milling and paving work beginning on May 13 and lasting until May 22, the state Department of Transportation announced.
"The project DOT01730557CN consists of milling and resurfacing a 0.98-mile segment of Route 1 Westport from Route 136 (Compo Road South to State Service Road 476 northbound (Sherwood Island Connector)," officials wrote in a statement.
Burns Construction is slated to do the milling work from May 13 to May 15, and Tilcon will do the paving from May 17 to May 22.
The work is scheduled for evening hours.

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures of Route 1 from Route 136 (Compo Road South) to State Service Road 476 northbound (Sherwood Island Connector). Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday night to Friday morning.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
