St. Vincent’s Medical Center earned a seventh consecutive “A” Hospital Safety Grade for Spring 2026 from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog. Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 measures of errors, accidents, injuries and infections as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent them.
“Delivering safe, high-quality care isn’t a goal we reach once—it’s a standard we uphold every day at St. Vincent’s Medical Center,” said William M. Jennings, Fairfield Region President of Hartford HealthCare. “Achieving this recognition for the seventh consecutive time speaks to a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement, and to the deep commitment our colleagues bring to every patient, every time.”
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program focused exclusively on preventable medical errors, infections and injuries that affect more than 500 patients a day nationally. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually, in the fall and spring.
