WESTPORT, CT — The Westport Pops Concert will return to the Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts on Friday, June 5, organizers announced.
The annual event will feature performances by student musicians from Staples High School, including the Symphonic Orchestra and Band, Jazz Ensemble One, Choralaires, Sonora, the Orphenians, the Stradivarius Chamber Orchestra and several small ensembles. Actor James Naughton will host the concert.
First established in 2016, the concert has become part of the Levitt Pavilion’s spring programming lineup.
The Levitt Pavilion lawn will open to attendees at 6 p.m., with the concert scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs.
Admission is free, though organizers suggest a $15 donation per ticket to help cover production costs. Tickets will be available beginning at 9 a.m. Friday, May 22, on a first-come, first-served basis through the Staples Music website.
Organizers said ticket holders will be notified by email of an alternate venue if weather conditions require the event to move indoors.
The concert is modeled after Boston’s Pops on the Esplanade concert series, according to organizers.
