WESTPORT, CT — A 22-year-old New Haven man was arrested on larceny charges last week in connection with the theft of $3,261.40 worth of cosmetics from the Westport Ulta Beauty store on the Post Road East in Westport, according to police.
Knowledje Madden was arrested on a warrant while at Stamford Superior Court on July 16, and was charged with the following:
Madden, who is incarcerated on an unrelated matter, was appearing in court that day in connection with another case, which led to his arrest by Westport police.
The Westport case, which is alleged to have occurred on March 31, 2025, was reported by the store's loss prevention staff.
"This incident involved a total of three suspects who appeared to be working together to steal various beauty products from the store," Westport Police Lt. Anthony Prezioso wrote in a statement. "Loss due to theft was estimated to be $3,261.40. Through further investigation including information sharing with other law enforcement agencies investigating similar incidents, one of these three suspects was identified as Knowledje Madden. An arrest warrant was sought and granted for Madden in connection with this investigation."
The status of the case as it relates to the other two suspects was not disclosed.
Madden is being held in lieu of bail of $25,000, and he is scheduled to appear back in court on Aug. 27.
