WESTPORT, CT — The Italian American Police Society will hold its eighth annual Charity Car Show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 9, at 148 East Ave. in Norwalk. A rain date is scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 16.
The event will feature classic cars, custom vehicles, local vendors and raffle prizes. According to the organization, more than $35,000 in raffle prizes have been donated by more than 100 sponsors.
"From automotive parts and accessories to tools, gift certificates, and specialty items, the raffle is one of the event's biggest attractions, making it a must-attend experience for participants and spectators alike," Westport Police Lt. Sereniti Dobson wrote in a news release.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Vincent Penna Scholarship Program, which was established in memory of Vincent Penna, the late deputy chief of the Westport Police Department. The scholarship provides financial assistance to high school students pursuing higher education.
"The Italian American Police Society invites the public to attend, enjoy an impressive display of vehicles, and help support the next generation of students through this meaningful scholarship program," the release reads.
