WESTPORT, CT — A 31-year-old Oxford, Ohio man was arrested this week by Westport police, after authorities said he traveled to Connecticut to stalk a person.
Xunqi Liu was arrested Tuesday on charges of first-degree stalking, and criminal violation of a restraining order.
According to Westport police, Liu went to an unnamed local business on Tuesday morning where he is not welcome.
"It was explained by the owner that the individual in question, identified as Xunqi Liu, had a documented history with other law enforcement agencies of stalking a relative of hers and that this had been going on for approximately two years," wrote Westport Police Lt. Anthony Prezioso in a statement.
Local authorities confirmed that there was an active restraining order against Liu out of Ohio.
"Investigation alleges that Liu had traveled from Seattle, Washington to Connecticut after he learned from a social media post that the business he visited was affiliated with a relative of the victim," Prezioso said. "Liu was taken into custody."
Liu was held in lieu of bail of $250,000, and he was scheduled to be arraigned in Stamford Superior Court on Wednesday.
