WESTPORT, CT — A pickup truck drove through a fence and struck a Westport home Thursday, according to the Westport Fire Department.
In a Facebook post, fire officials said firefighters and police were called to the Hillspoint Road area after receiving a report of a truck that had struck a home in town.
When crews arrived in the area, they found a heavy-duty pickup truck had traveled through a fence, down an inclined front yard and struck a house, fire officials said.
A stone wall near the house helped reduce the force of the impact and limited further damage, according to fire officials.
The building department and fire marshal's office were also called to the house to assess the structure and ensure the safety of the building, fire officials said.
A heavy-duty wrecker was requested to safely remove the vehicle, which was partially suspended on the stone wall, while minimizing the potential for additional damage to the property, according to fire officials.
No serious injuries were reported, fire officials said.
