Pickup truck crashes into Westport residence, fire department says (ctpost.com) — A heavy-duty pickup truck crashed through a fence and into a house near Hillspoint Road in Westport, but officials say no one was seriously hurt. Firefighters, building officials and the fire marshal secured the scene and used a heavy wrecker to stabilize and remove the truck, while investigators continue working to determine what caused the crash.
2. Online Art Gallery #335 (06880danwoog.com) — This week's online art gallery features a piece being donated to the Westport Permanent Art Collections, likely destined for Town Hall or a local school. Westport-connected artists share works inspired by 9/11, local landmarks like the Minute Man statue, and late-summer scenes at Compo, with several pieces available for purchase and open submissions for future galleries.
3. Staples golfers tee off with matches at Longshore and on the road (westportjournal.com) — Staples High's boys golf team from Westport is off to a strong start, with big wins over Westhill, St. Joseph and Danbury and a narrow loss to top-ranked Fairfield Prep. After recent close matches with New Canaan and Wilton, the Wreckers host Stamford and Norwalk in back-to-back home contests at Longshore, giving local fans a chance to watch standout golfers compete.
4. On-Air Changes At Connoisseur Connecticut. (insideradio.com) — Longtime WEBE 107.9 morning host Storm N Norman, whose station is based in Westport, has signed off again after decades as a familiar Connecticut radio voice. Connoisseur Media also parted ways with WICC host Paul Pacelli, with Jon Kamal stepping into WEBE mornings and a syndicated show replacing Pacelli on WICC, changes regular Westport-area listeners will notice on their dials.
