WESTPORT, CT — Westport Superintendent of Schools Thomas Scarice, who has held the post since 2020, recently received both the 2026 Superintendent of the Year Award and the Technology and AI Award from the National Association of School Superintendents, the district announced.
"These national honors celebrate what we see here in Westport every day: Tom's dedication to our students, his support for our educators, and his thoughtful leadership insisting that human connection remains at the center of all our work," said Westport Board of Education Chair Lee Goldstein in a statement.
The Superintendent of the Year award recognizes extraordinary leadership and contributions to public education, according to Goldstein.
"Tom's nomination reflects his leadership of Westport Public Schools and his focus on creating robust opportunities and stellar outcomes for our students," she said.
The Technology and AI Award "honors Tom's thoughtful work to help our schools use artificial intelligence intentionally and responsibly while keeping students and educators at the center of teaching and learning."
