Westport's Bayberry Brush Facility is open extended Saturday hours from 7 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. through Saturday, Dec. 12, according to the Town of Westport. The schedule began Saturday, Oct. 31, at the yard waste site at 180 Bayberry Lane, behind the Aspetuck Health District.
Westport residents with valid proof of residency may drop off up to six 30-gallon bags or similarly sized containers of leaves without a fee, according to the town's announcement. Plastic bags are not accepted.
Vans, pickups and tag-along trailers exceeding the six-bag limit are charged $40 per load. Vehicles or trailers larger than a conventional pickup with a 4-foot-by-8-foot bed are charged $90 per ton.
The $90-per-ton rate also applies to vehicles with a 9-foot body or those modified to significantly enlarge their factory design size. Dump tickets may be purchased at the Town Hall Public Works Department Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
