Award-winning Fairfield County artists Dave Pressler and Toby Michaels to exhibit at retirement community this May and June
From May 3 through June 29, Fairfield and Westport based artist David Pressler and Westport based artist Toby Michaels will have their work featured at ArtPlace Gallery @ The Watermark at 3030 Park in an exhibit titled “Creative Diversity.” A reception will be held at the gallery on Wednesday, May 11, at 2:00 p.m., at which time they will present their work, engage guests in discussion and answer questions.
The title of the exhibit, “Creative Diversity,” relates to both the creative variety found within both of the artists’ individual works, but also the creative diversity between their two collections of work.

Michaels, a registered art therapist and licensed counselor, started out as an elementary school art teacher before becoming interested in the emerging field of art therapy. After earning degrees in art therapy and counseling, she initiated a therapy program for Norwalk Hospital's Department of Psychiatry, where she was in practice for 17 years, and later Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan. She lives in Westport and continues to counsel adults through her private practice.
Michaels has selected a spectrum of works for this exhibition that demonstrate how her spiritual and metaphysical adventures have yielded multiple forms of expression.
“Making art for me becomes a doorway into Self-Knowledge, allowing for a deep connection to a Higher Source, the basis of all creativity,” said Michaels. “My abstract paintings inspire me to inquire into the “unseen,” the endless cosmic and universal possibilities that give life to artistic expression.”
