Anna Rimby, 94, a 60-Year Westport Resident Who Worked at People's Bank
She was an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoyed visiting Connecticut casinos. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday.

Anna M. Rimby, age 94 of Westport, beloved wife of the late Francis LaPlace and Walter Rimby, passed away peacefully Monday, Jan. 12, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Manor.
Born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, the daughter of the late James and Margaret McCollum, she had been a Westport resident for over 60 years. Mrs. Rimby retired from People’s Bank in Westport at the age of 75 working in Securities Sales.

She was a long-time parishioner of Assumption Church in Westport. Anna was an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoyed her trips to the casinos in Connecticut.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Patricia LaPlace of Fairfield; three granddaughters, Deborah LaPlace and her boyfriend Billy of Weehawken, NJ, Victoria MacFadyen and her husband John of Monroe and Veronica LaPlace of NC; a grandson, Jonathan LaPlace of NC; two grandsons, Johnny and Jake MacFadyen; two brothers, Peter and Paul McCollum of PA; a sister-in-law, Gayle McCollum of PA; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her husbands she was predeceased by a son, Raymond LaPlace; a daughter, Joan Haggerty and a granddaughter, Dawn Haggerty; three brothers, Richard, James, William McCollum and three sisters, Kathleen Smith, Peggy Fulk and Patricia Baker.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Assumption Church, 98 Riverside Avenue, Westport.
