Annual 'jUNe Day' Celebration In Westport This Weekend

The popular annual event takes place at various locations throughout town on Saturday.

The following announcement is from the Town of Westport:

WESTPORT, CT — First Selectwoman Jennifer Tooker will welcome United Nations delegates and staff to the Town's annual jUNe Day celebration on Saturday, June 24 at 10:30 AM on Jesup Green. This year's event is being held in cooperation with the Westport Sunrise Rotary Club's annual Duck Race.

At this year's event, UN Under-Secretary-General Christian Saunders, also a resident of Connecticut, will read out a special message for jUNe Day from Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.

For nearly 60 years, the Town of Westport, in cooperation with the United Nations Association of Southwestern Connecticut, has hosted United Nations diplomats and staff for a day of fun and recreation away from New York City. The Town invites UN guests and their families to spend a day at the beach, play tennis, golf or soccer on Town facilities, and visit Earthplace, the Nature Center, and the Town Farm.

Visitors also enjoy exploring the sidewalk sale and the many shops and restaurants offered by this community.
