Annual Westport 'TEA' Talk Set For Oct. 27

This year's "Thinkers, Educators, Artists" talk will explore "Breaking Barriers Through The Arts."

Westport’s 8th annual TEA Talk will be held at Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Avenue on Sunday, October 27 at 2pm. ‘Thinkers, Educators, Artists’ Talks explore topics relevant to the arts and artists; this discussion will focus on Breaking Barriers Through The Arts.

Inspired by the anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment, giving women the right to vote, this afternoon of moderated discussions features artists from the fields of music, visual arts, performance and poetry who will share their own stories of breaking boundaries through their work in three 20-minute conversations and performances followed by an audience Q & A and the presentation of the Horizon Award a young artist of note from Westport.

With a special appearances by Westport Poet Laureate Diane Lowman, Pianist Frederic Chiu

The event is free, open to the public and will include a Q & A with the panel. All are invited to a reception immediately following the talk. Registration is encouraged at www.westportarts.org.

TEA Talk is presented by the Westport Arts Advisory Committee (WAAC), with the Westport Library as a community partner. WAAC is committed to increasing public awareness of the Town's cultural resources: its artists, artworks and institutions.Committee members are appointed by Westport’s First Selectman.
