Bag Of Decapitated Chickens Left On Westport Property: PD
Police said a New York man is accused of leaving a bag containing decapitated chickens on a property in Westport.
WESTPORT, CT — Police said a New York man accused of leaving a bag containing decapitated chickens on a Franklin Street property in Westport was arrested over the weekend. According to a press release, the owner of the property reported an illegal dumping complaint Friday at approximately 11:30 p.m.
Police said the property had been the site of several recent illegal dumping incidents in which a suspect left boxes containing decapitated chickens.
"The victim reported a suspect had just dropped a bag on his property and was running south on Franklin Street towards Saugatuck Railroad Station," Lieutenant Jillian Cabana said in a release. "The bag was found to contain two decapitated chickens and one white pigeon."

Police said Corporal Kevin Smith located the man at the train station. He was identified as Ajamu Obataiye, 48, of New York, N.Y., and the property owner's home surveillance footage confirmed him to be the suspect, police said.
The accused was taken into custody and brought to police headquarters, where he was charged with breach of peace, cruelty to animals and illegal dumping, police said.
