Baron's South Property in Westport to Receive Clean Up

The 21-acre site has been overgrown with brush, vines and and tree branches.

WESTPORT, CT - The town-owned 21-acre property known as Baron's South will receive a $75,000 clean up following this week's unanimous approval of the money by the Board of Finance.

The site's trails have become difficult to travese, reports Westport Now, because they have been overgrown by brush, vines, tree branches and other debris. The money was requested by the Parks & Recreation Department, which will oversee the clean up.

In addition to the clean up, the site also will see the expansion of the senior center on a portion of the property, and the eventual use of the Golden Shadows mansion, which also rests on land there.
