Biden, Sanders Lead CT Presidential Primary Ballot In Westport

A bunch of familiar names remain on the ballot despite suspending their campaigns.

WESTPORT, CT — Eight Democratic candidates will appear on the presidential primary ballot when the party heads to the polls on April 28 in Westport and throughout Connecticut, even though most of them have suspended their campaigns, according to Secretary of the State Denise Merrill.

Republicans are holding a presidential primary in Connecticut on April 28, but only three names will appear on the ballot, led by current President Donald Trump.

Three candidates remain in the race for the Democratic nomination, Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders and Tulsi Gabbard.

"Withdrawals of candidates who do not wish to remain on the ballot is still possible," said Westport's Registrars of Voters office. "The Registrars of Voters will provide an update on the candidates on or after March 23."
