Body Washes Ashore In Westport, PD Investigating

WESTPORT, CT — Police are investigating after a body washed ashore Friday morning in Westport. A resident contacted police around 8:40 a.m. to report the sighting on Harbor Road.

A dead male was found at the water line, said Lt. Jillian Cabana, police spokesman. He hasn't been identified as of Friday morning.

Harbor Road has since reopened. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has taken possession of the body, which remains unidentified.

Foul play is not suspected, Cabana said.

The investigation is ongoing.
