Bridge Mishap In Westport Resolved; Road Reopened: UPDATE
The Route 136 Bridge (also known as the William Cribari Bridge) has been reopened, according to police.

WESTPORT, CT — A mishap with the Route 136 Bridge in Saugatuck on Thursday (also known as the William Cribari Bridge) led to the temporary closure of Route 136 in that area, but it has since been reopened, according to Westport police.
"At approximately 12:00 pm Ct DOT attempted to conduct bridge repairs on the William Cribari bridge," police wrote in a statement. "Once the bridge was opened, it became stuck, and they were unable to close it. They are currently working on getting the bridge closed so the roadway can be reopened."
The bridge was closed and the road reopened at about 3:15 p.m.

"The William Cribari bridge is reopened to traffic," said Westport Police Lt. Eric Woods in a statement. "We will notify the public if DOT plans to work on the bridge tomorrow (Friday)."
