Burglar Wakes Westport Homeowner: PD
Police are investigating multiple overnight burglaries that occurred between Wednesday and Thursday.

WESTPORT, CT — Police are investigating a number of burglaries that occurred in the overnight hours between Wednesday and Thursday. In one instance a homeowner woke to the sound of a burglar at work.
The Bonnie Brook Road homeowner heard the screen window of the front door being cut and made noise, which scared off the burglar, said Lt. David Farrell, police spokesman.
Homeowners at another Bonnie Brook Road residence woke to discover that someone entered the home overnight while they were sleeping and stole about $4,000 worth of electronics and cash. Entry was made through an unlocked door.

Police request that residents remain alert and call if anything or anyone seems out of place or suspicious. They also advise residents to keep doors locked at night and to keep exterior lighting lit.
