Celebrated Author Candace Bushnell To Speak At Westport Library

Westport Library: On Monday, August 5 at 7:00 p.m., the Westport Library will welcome celebrated author Candace Bushnell to speak about her new collection of essays, Is There Still Sex in the City? In this anthology, the Sex and the City author delves into love and the dating habits of middle-aged men and women as they continue to navigate the ever-modernizing world of relationships. In the anthology, Bushnell looks at love and life from all angles—marriage and children, divorce and bereavement, as well as the very real pressures on women to maintain their youth and have it all.

Bushnell will be in conversation with Westport book blogger Jennifer Gans Blankfein in the Library’s Forum the day before her book is available in stores.

Candace Bushnell is the critically acclaimed, international best-selling author of nine books, including Is There Still Sex in the City, Sex and the City, Summer and the City, The Carrie Diaries, One Fifth Avenue, Lipstick Jungle, Trading Up, Killing Monica and Four Blondes. Sex and the City, published in 1996, was the basis for the HBO hit series and two subsequent blockbuster movies. Lipstick Jungle became a popular television series on NBC, as did The Carrie Diaries on the CW. Is There Still Sex in the City is currently in development as a tv series with Paramount.

Jennifer Gans Blankfein is a freelance marketing consultant for small local businesses and authors and currently works with Bedside Reading where books are placed by the bedside in luxury and boutique hotels. She is an avid reader and reviews books in her blog, Book Nation by Jen. Jennifer graduated from Lehigh University with a Psychology degree and has a background in advertising. Jennifer lives in Westport with her husband, two sons and black lab.
