Compo Beach Playground; Old Mill Grocery & Deli By Romanacci Liquor Sales To Be Discussed By Westport P&Z
The Westport Planning and Zoning Commission is scheduled to meet on Monday.

WESTPORT, CT — Planning and Zoning Director Mary Young announced on May 20, 2024 at 7:00 PM, the Planning and Zoning Commission will review two applications that may be of public interest to residents: a Municipal Improvement and a Text Amendment to the Zoning Regulations.
The Westport Rotary Club coordinating with the Westport Police Foundation intends to gift a renovated Compo Beach Playground to the Town of Westport. Fundraising activities are on-going. The gift requires issuance of a report from the Planning and Zoning Commission pursuant to Connecticut General Statute §8-24, Municipal Improvement. “The scope of the playground project is to remove some worn out features, replace most of the picket fencing, rebuild some of the existing features to better meet today’s family’s needs, and add some new features. These activities will all occur within the same portion of the beach as the existing playground. Build week is scheduled for Spring, 2025 as a huge community hands-on event built 100% by volunteers.”
Also scheduled for review on May 20th is Text Amendment #843, submitted by Cindy Tyminski, Moon Garden, LLC. The amendment is intended to allow liquor sales for on-site consumption at Old Mill Grocery and Deli by Romanacci at 222 Hillspoint Road, where it is not currently allowed due to its location in a residential zoning district. The May 20th, 2024, Planning and Zoning Commission meeting will be held virtually via Zoom, will be live streamed on the Town’s website at www.westportct.gov, and/or accessible on Optimum Government Access Channel 79 and Frontier Channel 6020.
