CT Among Top 10 Best States To Live In Country, List Says

Connecticut was recently ranked among the 10 best states to live in the country on a list compiled by the lifestyle website HomeSnacks. The website claims to have used both science and data to determine "which states have it made."

Connecticut ranked third on HomeSnacks' list, placing just ahead of New Jersey and just below Massachusetts. The top spot was awarded to New Hampshire.

According to HomeSnacks, the list was compiled after taking factors like low crime, solid education, insurance, things to do and a stable economy into account for each state. FBI crime data and the most recent ACS 2012-2016 were used to examine these and other factors, enabling the site to rank each from 1 to 50.

When discussing the states's strengths, HomeSnacks cites how quickly homes seem to sell in Connecticut and how there are less vacant housing units here than any other state.

The site also praises Connecticut's public schools as great, if not a little overcrowded, and finds it to be one of the least dangerous states in the country.

4. New Jersey
5. Virginia
6. Vermont
7. Hawaii
8. Minnesota
9. Maryland
10. Rhode Island
