CT Child Psychiatrist Forced to Give Up Medical License

He recently paid a large settlement to the state.

Branford, CT - A child psychiatrist from Branford will give up his medical license after paying $30,000 to settle a medicaid fraud allegation with the state last year, as reported by Kate Farrish of Connecticut Health-I Team.

Dr. W. Blake Taggart will voluntarily not renew or reinstate his license when it expires on Aug. 31, according to Kate Farrish of Connecticut Health-I Team, according to Connecticut Health-I Team. This will be reported through channels to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Taggart paid the aforementioned fine for allegations of fraudulent claims for payments to Cornerstones P.C., a Branford outpatient behavioral health clinic for children, Connecticut Health-I Team reported. Taggart had been the medical director of Cornerstones, but resigned in 2009.
