David Lessing, Westport P&Z Vice Chair, Steps Down: Report

Lessing, a Democrat, has lived in Westport with his family since 2010.

WESTPORT, CT — David Lessing, the vice chair of the Westport Planning and Zoning Commission, has resigned from the post due to travel commitments for his job, reports the Westport News.

Lessing is a partner and Executive Vice President at the reinsurance and wealth management firm Beechwood Bermuda, which has offices in New York, Bermuda and Dubai. He has lived in Westport with his family since 2010.

He was elected to the commission in 2013, and commission Chair Cathy Walsh said his demeanor and insight will be missed. The Westport Democratic Town Committee, of which Lessing was a member, will recommend a replacement.
