Deadline Extended For Applications For Westport Board Of Education

Westport Democrats are seeking a replacement for Christina Torres, who recently stepped down from the board.

WESTPORT, CT — The Westport Democratic Town Committee has extended the deadline to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 14, for registered local Democrats who may be interested in serving on the Westport Board of Education.

Those who are interested must submit a statement of interest and biography/resume to Michael Gordon at mgordon906@gmail.com. To be considered, a candidate must be a registered Democrat living in Westport.

The DTC is looking to fill the post of Christina Torres, who recently stepped down from the board to concentrate on her school administrator's position in Westchester County, according to Westport Journal. Torres had served on the board for two years.

"Interested candidates should be prepared to serve the remaining months of the current term and then stand for election in 2025 for a full four-year term," Democratic officials wrote in a release.
