Deadline to Register to Vote in Connecticut Is Today: What You Need to Know

The deadline to register to vote in Connecticut in this year's Presidential Election is today, Nov. 1, state officials announced.

As of Wednesday, Oct. 26, Connecticut had 2,100,021 registered voters, a state record, according to Secretary of the State Denise W. Merrill.

"There are many factors that helped push the number of registered voters to a record high," said Merrill in a statement. "Online voter registration and the streamlined motor-voter system have been game-changers. However, anyone still unregistered should know that there is still time. The deadline is November 1. Register today and be sure to vote on November 8!"

To register to vote in Connecticut, your application must be "postmarked or received by a voter registration agency by the 7th day before an election (OR you may register in person with your [town's] Registrar of Voters by the 7th day before an election)."
