Decision Reached on School in Westport on Friday
Snow is falling Friday morning and is expected to continue until around noon.
The following Fairfield County schools are closed on Friday due to snow including, but not limited to:
- Darien Public Schools
- Easton Public Schools
- New Canaan Public Schools
- Norwalk Public Schools
- Newtown Public Schools
- Stratford Public Schools
- Trumbull Public Schools
- Westport Public Schools
A fast-moving somewhat of a surprise snowstorm was expected to dump between 3-6 inches of snow on the area before it tapers off late Friday morning and early afternoon.
The heavy wet snow is forecast to be at its worst from about 5 a.m. to 8 a.m.

During the day temps will warm up into the upper 30s. All eyes are focused on the potential next storm, a Nor’easter that may arrive late Monday and into Tuesday.
