WESTPORT, CT — A downed tree, downed wires and a structure fire on Tuesday afternoon has temporarily closed a portion of Compo Road South in Westport, according to police.

"All motorists are advised to avoid the area of Compo Road South between Post Road East and Thomas Road due to a tree down involving powerlines and a structure fire," authorities said in a statement. "Please avoid the area as traffic is extremely congested."
