Downtown Westport Restaurant Set to Close
It had been a staple of the Main Street area for 20 years.

Westport, CT - Acqua Ristorante is scheduled to close after 20 years in downtown Westport.
Its last day will be Thursday, June 30, and the staff will have the opportunity to work at other restaurants owned by Acqua's ownership group, Z Hospitality Group, reports The Hour.
In addition to increased competition from new restaurants in the marketplace, Ramze Zakka, owner of Z Hospitality, told The Hour that Acqua's lease was up and he decided not to renew it. Acqua's presence on the ownership group's website has already been removed.

Over the years, commercial space in downtown Westport has become among some of the most expensive in Fairfield County, which could have played a factor in Zakka's decision.
Z Hospitality will concentrate its efforts on its other restaurants in Fairfield and Westchester counties, including two new ones it plans to open in the near future.
