Drilling To Cause Delays In Area Of Westport

Town officials said traffic will be detoured around the work area and delays will be experienced during this period.

WESTPORT, CT — Town officials said Aquarion Water Company and True Blue Construction will be commencing preparations for horizontal drilling underneath the Myrtle Avenue Culvert on Myrtle Avenue between Post Road East and Church Lane.

According to a news release, this work will commence on Monday, July 23, at 7 a.m., with True Blue Construction excavating in two locations on Myrtle Ave in preparation for the work.

The actual horizontal drilling process will start Tuesday, July 24. Officials said the work could take up to three days to complete.

During this period traffic will be detoured around the work area and delays will be experienced, officials said. Aquarion Water advises residents and Business Owners to plan accordingly.

There will be very limited access to Violet Lane during working hours while drilling is taking place. Officials also said the schedule is weather dependent and could experience delays due to rain.
