Dumpster Fire Extinguished in Westport

WESTPORT, CT — Firefighters doused a dumpster fire in front of a home on Westfair Drive in Westport Wednesday afternoon, according to fire officials.

No injuries were reported in the 2:10 p.m. fire, but residents and businesses are reminded that dumpsters should be placed well away from the building during construction. Additionally, do not dispose of any burning material in such containers.

The Westport Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire. The last Fire department unit cleared the scene at 2:26 p.m.
