Fairfield Woman Killed In Crash On I-95 In Westport: State Police
The SUV vs. truck crash occurred at about 12:30 a.m. on Monday.
WESTPORT, CT — A 44-year-old Fairfield woman was killed early Monday when the Porsche Macan she was driving crashed into the rear of a tanker truck being towed on Interstate 95 near Exit 18 in Westport, according to Connecticut State Police.
Julia D. Clarke was pronounced dead at the scene of the 12:30 a.m. crash. The driver of the tow truck, an Oxford resident, suffered injuries that are not considered to be a threat to his life.
The blue 2019 Porsche and the 2023 Freightliner Cascadia were traveling northbound when the crash occurred just south of the exit. The tractor trailer was towing a 1998 Kenworth tanker.

"Preliminary investigation determined that [the] tractor trailer was stopped in the right lane due to heavy traffic," the state police report reads. "The Porsche was traveling northbound in the right lane when it rear ended the tanker."
