WESTPORT, CT — A commercial building on Bluff Point in Westport was damaged Monday when a television caught fire on the second floor, according to Westport Assistant Fire Chief Brian Meadows. No injuries were reported.

Firefighters were called to the scene at about 7:30 p.m. and were met by the property manager who had tried to put out the blaze with a fire extinguisher.

"[Firefighters] made entry and found evidence that the TV fire had extended to the wall of the structure," Meadows said in a statement. "Members from E4 and E2 worked together to stretch a 300-foot attack line while the Truck Company opened the wall to check for extension and shut off power to the building."
