Former Westport Official Designated Assistant Town Attorney

Candice Savin has served on both the Board of Selectmen and Board of Education.

WESTPORT, CT — Local attorney Candice Savin, who has served on multiple town boards, has been designated as Westport's new Assistant Town Attorney," First Selectman Kevin Christie announced.

Savin will work with Town Attorney Ira Bloom and colleagues at Berchem Moses P.C. She will succeed Eileen Lavigne, who is retiring in June.

Savin graduated from Johns Hopkins University and earned her law degree from Duke University School of Law. In Westport, she previously served on the town’s Board of Education, including two years as chair, and was a member of the Board of Selectwomen from 2021 to 2025.

"I am pleased to announce the appointment of Candice Savin as Westport’s next Assistant Town Attorney," Christie said in a statement. "Ms. Savin brings significant experience in municipal government, sound judgment, and a strong commitment to public service. She will be an important addition to the Town’s legal team."

Savin has also served on the boards of The Conservative Synagogue and the Westport Chapter of Hadassah. Since 2012, she has been co-chair of the "Booked for the Evening" event at the Westport Library.

"Ms. Savin is well-respected in town for her legal abilities and her knowledge of town government," Bloom said. "I anticipate a smooth transition for her. She will be a great addition to our Westport legal team."
