Former Westport Police Chief Charged with DUI

He was charged after a minor motor vehicle accident, according to police.

WESTPORT, CT — Former Westport Police Chief Alfred Fiore, 61, was charged with driving under the influence after a minor motor vehicle accident May 26 on Compo Road South.

Fiore smelled of alcohol and failed a field sobriety test, police said. He refused to submit to a breath test and was released on a $250 bond.

Fiore retired from the department in 2011 after 33 years as a policeman.
