Gas Leak Stopped, Road Remains Closed In Westport: Update

WESTPORT, CT — Cross Highway in Westport, between Vineyard and Bayberry lanes, remains closed to traffic Monday morning, but the gas leak in the area that led to the shutdown has been stopped, according to fire officials:

Update- Southern CT Gas has stopped the leak. The road will remain closed while they make repairs Westport Fire crews are currently addressing a gas leak on Cross Highway. The road is closed between Vineyard Lane and Bayberry Lane while Southern CT Gas works to resolve the issue. Please avoid the area and find alternate routes. Stay safe!
