Gilbertie's Hosts 100th Anniversary Scavenger Hunt & Garden Party

The following announcement is from Gilbertie's Garden Center:

WESTPORT, CT Gilbertie's are celebrating a century of organic farming, and what better way to mark this momentous occasion than by hosting a fun, self-guided scavenger hunt around Westport, CT. A hunt that families, customers, friends, staff, and neighboring towns can all enjoy. The route has been carefully devised by Rock Paper Scissors Custom Events, with driving, walking, and exploration appeal. Established in 1922, Gilbertie's is a fourth generation, family-owned garden center that's been a Westport staple. The hunt reflects this with a nod to other long-term
family-owned businesses in the area.

The scavenger hunt runs throughout May and is available to download NOW and can be driven
at any time up to and including May 29th. The drive time is approximately 30 minutes, plus
limited walking time. If you complete the hunt, solve the phrase, and send in your picture, you
will be added to the Wall of Fame. It is there that a lucky winner will be picked at random and
awarded a Gilbertie's Westport $50 gift voucher. Winners will be announced each week on
Monday (May 9, 16, 23 and 30).

General Manager, Carrie Gilbertie commented, "We are so incredibly grateful for the love and
support which has been showered upon us over the years. That's why we chose to do a month-
long celebration of our milestone, that everyone, no matter how busy they are, can enjoy.
Culminating with the big party at our Westport Garden Center on Saturday, June 4th."

The 100th birthday party at Gilbertie's Garden Center will include several artisanal vendors,
including Millbrook Honey Co, Pure by Shasha Aromatherapy to Paul's Custom Pet Food, a
caricature artist and more. For the young kids, there is a traveling petting zoo. Enjoy a leisurely
day with live music by Mystic Bowie's Talking Dreads. There will be plenty of food choices from
JR’S hot dogs and hamburgers, Tony's pizza truck, The Greek on the Street, and Alena's Ice
Cream.
