Gofer Ice Cream Opens New Shop In Westport

The new shop, the chain's eighth location, is at 1240 Post Road East.

WESTPORT, CT — Gofer Franchise Systems LLC announced that it has opened its eighth Gofer Ice Cream shop with a new franchised location at 1240 Post Road East in Westport.

"The newest Gofer Franchise location was carefully selected to serve the Westport community in its oldest neighborhood area, Greens Farm, next to many schools and ballfields," Gofer Ice Cream CEO Jay Ragusa said in a statement. "The site has ample parking, good visibility and great neighboring tenants like Fortuna's Deli that has been serving the community for over forty years and has a great following. Westport is one of the final missing pieces of the Gold Coast footprint where Gofer has been operating and growing since 2003. We are seeing some good traction and buzz for this location and we are excited."

Ragusa continued, "In addition to our award winning product lineup, we are excited to introduce our partnership with a new type of plant based ice cream called 'Eclipse.' It is a unique tasting treat that is plant based from Cassava root versus traditional coconut and almond nut based products. Gofer Ice Cream will be the first regional ice cream chain to carry the Eclipse product. Gofer Westport will offer the product in vanilla soft serve as well as several hard flavors."

Grand Opening will be held Saturday, Sept 10th from 12:30pm to 3pm with several giveaways, music, free ice cream samples and other surprises. We invite the community to come try any of our variety of tasty treats and meet the newest Franchise Partner, Hasni Waheed.
