Grand Opening at Earth Animal: Old Dog, New Digs

Organic dog cookies, pizza, beer, artwork, magician, professional photos and more!

Southport, Connecticut (September 2019) Earth Animal is moving up to the old Starbucks to 925 Post Road E., Westport, CT. The grand opening will be held on Sunday, October 6, 2019 from noon to 5pm. Ribbon cutting with the Goldstein family and unveiling of the “Love Brick Walkway” in honor of long-time Earth Animal store general managerJohn R. Mancinelli will be at 1pm.

There will be entertainment throughout the afternoon, including live music by Tangled Vine, a strolling magician, dog agility demonstrations, and a visit from K9 First Responder Spartacus. Shop with a 20% discount coupon and enjoy food by Pizza Truck, beer by Half Full, and coffee by ILSE at this family- and animal-friendly event. Pet photos can be snapped with Pamela Einarsen, with donations going to the Pink Shelter in Westport. Donations from the Love Brick Walkway go to the Westport Animal Shelter Advocates.

Additional events celebrating the new store opening will be held on weekends throughout the year, including a seminar on Animal Anxiety with dog trainer Heather Witt on October 12 from 2-4pm, “Chirp Talk,” a discussion on wild birds and fall feeding best practices with Wildlife in Crisis on October 13 from 1-3pm, an animal adoption event with Save Our Strays on October 19 from 10am-2pm, a limited seating wine, cheese, and honey pairing event with a discussion on the importance of bees and honey by Red Bee Honey on October 20 from 3-4pm, a free dog nail clipping event with Townhouse for Dogs on October 26 from 12-2pm, a talk by Earthplace specialists entitled, “Bats Get a Bad Rap!” discussing the importance of bats to the ecosystem with a live bat demonstration on October 26 from 3:30-4:30pm, a visit with Animal Communicator Lauren Fox, who will communicate with animals in the audience, on October 27 from 12-4pm, and trick-or-treating on October 31 from 4-6pm.
