Another week of Greens Farms Academy fall athletics saw a handful of big wins for Dragons teams.

WESTPORT, CT – Another week of Greens Farms Academy fall athletics saw a handful of big wins for Dragons teams.
According to a news release, the boys varsity soccer team won a pair of games to move to 4-1-2 on the season while girls soccer improved to 6-1-2 with a win in its only game last week.
Field hockey bounced back from a tough loss against Sacred Heart-Greenwich to win two games and move their record to 5-2.

Finally, the GFA varsity volleyball team saw its seven-game win streak snapped, but still stands at 7-1 heading into a new week of games.
BOYS SOCCER

Zach Liston (Wilton) scored twice to lead a balanced scoring attack as the Dragons rolled to the victory over The Harvey School by an 8-2 score.
Charles Kolin (Greenwich) added a goal and two assists while Charlie Benson (Darien) and Mitch Colonna (Rowayton) had one goal and one assist each. Will McCall (Westport), Liam Murphy (Westport) and Scott Yenor (Riverside) had single tallies for the Dragons while Aidan Murphy (Darien) and Elek Krizsan
(Westport) had assists.
Goalies Max Yates (Fairfield), Spencer Henske (Westport, 2 saves) and Ryan Buzzee (Norwalk, 1 save) all saw action.
Later in the week, the Dragons hosted Hamden Hall on Wednesday and earned a 3-1 win. Liston scored two goals while Henry Mcdonald (Westport) added the other. Benson and Jack Seegers (Stamford) recorded assists for GFA.
GIRLS SOCCER
Marygrace Dellisanti (Wilton) made eight saves and the Dragons got goals from four different scorers en route to the win over Masters School on Monday.
Elyse Kimball (Westport) had a goal and an assist while Annika White (Southport), Sophie Staeger (Southport) and Stephanie Wistreich (Wilton) all had single goals for GFA. Ava McCormick (Westport), Ella Murphy (Darien), Lane Murphy (Darien) and Emma Smith (Southport) added assists.
FIELD HOCKEY
The Dragons fell to FAA power Sacred Heart-Greenwich on Monday, giving up just one goal in the second half in a 7-0 loss. Goalie Nikki Farber (Westport) faced a barrage of shots, but turned away 12 attempts while Alex Nesi (Fairfield) added a defensive save.
The Dragons bounced back and went on the road to pull out a 5-3 win over Hopkins on Wednesday. Hopkins had a three-game win streak over GFA going into the game, having out-scored the Dragons by a 12-3 count.
After taking a bit to get going, GFA went out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Zoe Koskinas (Fairfield) and Keely O’Shea (Darien). On GFA's second corner of the half, Lucy Holzinger (Westport) was set up from Bryn Morrison (Weston), where she nailed a beautiful reverse chip shot into the cage to tie the game at 3-3.
GFA would continue to keep knocking on the offensive end with Francesca DeVita (Darien) netting her 6th goal of the season off of a rebound from a riffling shot from Holzinger off a broken corner.
Koskinas would seal the deal at the 17:25 mark to put GFA ahead for good 5-3.
Later in the week, GFA topped visiting Suffield 2-1. With 22:55 left in the first half, Suffield manage to break
through GFA's defense and put one in off the side of Farber.
Nesi would finally get GFA on the board with 18:59 remaining in the first half off an assist from Holzinger on a beautifully executed penalty corner. The Dragons would continue to dominate the half with Nesi netting her second goal of the game off a transfer again from Holzinger to set her up right at the top of the circle.
VOLLEYBALL
The Greens Farms Academy varsity volleyball team earned their seventh straight win to open the season with a 3-0 win over The Stormers on Monday.
The Dragons pulled out a 25-18, 25-16, 25-19 win to move to 7-0 on the season. Kirwan Carey (Westport) had 15 kills and five blocks to lead the way for GFA. Elena Mota (Darien) added 11 kills while Meg Nesi (Fairifeld) notched 11 assists and Alex Nason (Darien) had nine digs. Kelly Mooney (Southport), Mota, Nason and Nesi had two aces each.
The Dragons suffered their first loss, dropping three close games to host Westover later in the week. Carey led the way with six kills, five digs and five blocks. Mota also added five kills. Nason had eight digs an four aces
while Meg Nesi had five kills 13 assists.
CROSS COUNTRY
The Dragons girls cross country team added two more top-10 individual finishes to its strong fall season during an FAA meet at the Brunswick School last week.
Sophomore Caroline McCall (Westport) placed fourth in the meet in 21:56.1 while classmate Haley Nilsson (Fairfield) took a ninth place showing in 23:08.4.
Kira McCreesh (Southport) took 17 th in 24:13.4; Georgia Palmgren (Fairfield) was 34 th (25:32.7) and Katie Gabriele (Westport) was 51 st (27:32.2). Kaitlin Reed was right behind in 56th (27:39.1) in the 98-runner field.
The girls team finished fifth out of the eight-team field.
In the boys meet, Larson Palmgren (Fairfield) led the way with a 16th-place finish (20:31.6) with Will Magrone (Darien) right on his heals in 17th (20:36.0).
Conor Minson (Darien) was 21st (20:57.9) with Charlie Bohnsack (Darien) in 40 th and Jonty Hammer (Darien) in 44th (22:25.5).
GFA tied for fourth in the seven-team field.
