Greenwich Man Accused Of Bank Fraud In Westport: Police

The suspect was seen on surveillance video, according to Westport police.

WESTPORT, CT — A 27-year-old Greenwich man was arrested on a warrant by Westport police on April 3 in connection with a bank fraud case in Westport, according to authorities.

Alexis Antuna was charged with third-degree larceny, and criminal attempt at third-degree larceny, in relation to an incident in February at First County Bank.

"They reported that a fraudulent check had been deposited into an account at their Fairfield branch and then funds were withdrawn from the Westport branch days later," wrote Westport Police Lt. Eric Woods in a statement. "The bank determined that the check and account were fraudulent and attempted to retrieve the stolen funds. Through the use of surveillance footage and law enforcement sharing, a suspect was identified."

That suspect was Antuna, who was taken into custody by Fairfield police and turned over to Westport police on the 3rd.

Antuna was released after posting a $15,000 bond, and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on April 30.
