Here's Where Westport Ranks Among Top Places To Live In CT

WESTPORT, CT — Westport is the 27th best place to live in Connecticut, according to a recent survey from rankings website Niche.com.

Overall, Westport received an "A" grade from the site, scoring high marks for it's public schools (A+), and for being "good for families" (A+). The town's nightlife also received a B+.

First Selectwoman Jennifer Tooker told Patch that Westport has numerous charms that make it a great community.

"Our natural assets are unparalleled between the beautiful beaches and the magnificent Saugatuck River, Westport is a fabulous place to live, work, play and learn," Tooker said. "Then we look at the bustling downtown and Saugatuck areas, where you can find great dining or shopping. It’s fabulous. We hope everyone who visits our town feels welcome. Please come!"

Though 27th overall, Westport was ranked #1 in both "Places with the Best Public Schools in Connecticut," and "Suburbs with the Best Public Schools in Connecticut."

The only blemishes in Westport's overll ranking are C+ grades for housing, crime & safety and diversity.

According to Niche.com, the median home value in Westport is $1,150,400 and the median rent is $1,956 per month. The median household income in Westport is $206,466.

By comparison, the median home value nationally is $244,900; median rent is $1,163; and median household income is $69,021, according to Niche.com.

West Hartford was ranked the top place to live in Connecticut, followed by Newfield, Weatogue, Riverside and Noank in the top five.
