Hit-and-Run Crash Leads to Arrest of Norwalk Man: Westport Police

The crash occurred on the Post Road West in Westport on Aug. 25.

WESTPORT, CT — A 25-year-old Norwalk man was arrested on charges of Evading Responsibility and Failure to Obey a Control signal in connection with a hit-and-run crash on the Post Road West in Westport on Aug. 25, according to police.

Chris Troy is accused of fleeing the scene of the crash, which occurred at the intersection of Wilton Road at about 12:50 a.m. on the 25th. No injuries were reported.

"Investigating officers located a license plate that fell off the suspect vehicle and was left at the scene," wrote police in a statement. "They responded to a residence in Norwalk where they located the suspect vehicle and ultimately located the suspect."

Troy was arrested at his residence in Norwalk and transported back to the Westport Police Department where he was booked on the charges.

He was released after posting a $1,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Sept. 1.
