At-Home COVID-19 Test Kit Distribution Delayed In Westport
Town officials said Thursday the at-home coronavirus test kits from the state have not been delivered on time due to a shipping problem.

WESTPORT, CT — Westport's at-home coronavirus test kit distribution event, originally planned to take place Thursday afternoon at Staples High School, has been postponed due to a shipping problem.
In a statement Thursday morning, First Selectwoman Jennifer Tooker said the test kits from the state has not yet been delivered. Once the test kits have been received, the town will notify residents of a new date and time of distribution, Tooker said.
"We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience," Tooker said in a statement, "and we are hopeful that the state will rectify this problem very soon."

The postponement comes following Gov. Ned Lamont's announcement Wednesday evening that the state's anticipated shipment of COVID-19 at-home rapid tests were delayed on the west coast.

Municipalities that scheduled distribution events for Thursday did not know if the test kits arrived in Connecticut until the overnight hours or early Thursday morning.
