Injuries Reported After Tree Falls Onto Bus In Westport: Fire Officials

WESTPORT, CT — Several people suffered minor injuries Monday morning when a fallen tree smashed out a window on a Greyhound bus on I-95 in Westport, according to Westport fire officials.

The incident occurred at about 6:40 a.m., and all the injured parties did not require a ride to the hospital, authorities said.

"Arriving fire companies found a large tree blocking all travel lanes after it struck the coach bus, breaking one of the bus’s windows," fire officials wrote on Facebook (click here to view photos). Westport EMS and the Connecticut State Police also responded to assist at the scene.

In addition to the driver, there were 15 passengers on the bus at the time.

"The Connecticut Department of Transportation removed the tree from the roadway," authorities said.
